Why logfish.net? Well, I ran through the freedict dictionary and brute-forced my way to a new dictionary word with not too many letters. Also it has "log" in it, so I thought that was cool.
For historical reasons, I decided to just copy the dict.org defenition and make sure it is kept here for all to see.
The full definition is:
Rudder fish. (Zool.)
(a) The pilot fish.
(b) The amber fish ({Seriola zonata), which is bluish
having six broad black bands.
(c) A plain greenish black American fish ({Leirus
perciformis); -- called also black rudder fish,
logfish, and barrel fish. The name is also applied
to other fishes which follow vessels. So this site could just have been called "plain greenish black Amarican fish".net... which I may register if I have way to much money in the bank. Anyway, the Rudderfish can also be found on Wikipedia. It's a pretty dull looking fish.. but it's fast, cool, and can apparently both eat and read log-files!
Also it tends to follow boats, but I'm not sure what that is all about.
